U-PLUS
The CFMEU has campaigned and successfully negotiated with hundreds
of employers to pay into U-PLUS for members.
U-PLUS provides
extra workers compensation benefits for workers injured in
accidents and also outside of work. About 25,000 workers are
covered by U-PLUS top up workers compensation / 24 hour
accident insurance.
The union includes in all its enterprise bargaining agreements
(EBA’s) provision for employers to pay U-PLUS insurance for
employees. This benefit is also negotiated in union project
agreements that cover workers who work on particular sites.
All employers who
work on these sites are required to pay U-PLUS insurance
for employees whilst on their sites even if the benefit is
not in an EBA with this company.
