Support our campaigns for workers’ rights, social justice, and international solidarity

ABOUT CFMEU SOLIDARITY

The Construction Forestry Mining Energy Union (CFMEU) has been in the forefront of the fight for workers’ rights, social justice and international solidarity for many decades.

You can now support these struggles and become an Associate Member by joining CFMEU Solidarity, even if you do not work in the building industry.

If you are working in another industry you still have obligations to be a member of the trade union relevant to your workplace and/or industry. The cost of CFMEU Solidarity Membership is only $4.00 per fortnight. Building workers are not eligible for Solidarity Membership.

While you do not have the right to vote in CFMEU elections (the union must remain in the hands of the rank and file building workers) you can help strengthen and resource the CFMEU to fight and campaign.

Much of Sydney’s heritage in The Rocks and Woolloomooloo, and more recently at Pyrmont Point , was saved by union green bans. The CFMEU also played a vital role in the campaign for compensation for the James Hardie asbestos victims.

The CFMEU often fights to ensure justice and fair pay for foreign guest workers who may work in jobs ranging from restaurants to building sites.

We are active in our support of the Palestinian people and in solidarity with Cuba.

Your support will assist in better resourcing the CFMEU so we can continue and strengthen progressive and militant trade unionism.

You can help us to continue our involvement in the anti‐war movement, campaigns for social justice and broader social and community work.
