Trade Unions are for Retired Members too!
The CFMEU acknowledges and appreciates the outstanding
contribution that retired trade unionists have made to
industry campaigns to improve wages and conditions and
build a strong union.
The CFMEU’s responsibility to members does not end when
you retire.
The wages and conditions working members enjoy today
are a direct result of yesterday’s struggles.
The needs and expectations of members who have retired
from the industry are not forgotten and are represented
by the CFMEU Retired Members Association.
Most importantly, retired members retain the right to
vote in the Union elections. Your ongoing support and
participation can help keep your Union strong and
united.
The CFMEU organises entry for our retired members to our
Annual Building Industry Picnic and organises an annual
Christmas dinner where retired members and their
partners can socialise.
