NSW INQUIRY INTO
WORKCHOICES
The NSW Government is undertaking parliamentary inquiry into the
effect of WorkChoices Legislation on working men and women.
The Inquiry will be
particularly interested in:
 |
the ability of
workers to genuinely bargain in relation to their employment
conditions, as well as the impact on women, youth, casual
employees and the impact on security of employment; |
 |
the impact on
rural communities, gender equity, balancing work and family
responsibilities and injured workers. |
The NSW Government is
calling for submissions about the effect of the changes.
This is an opportunity for the Union, as well as individual workers,
to have their say about the recent industrial relations changes, to
express our concerns about the Howard Government’s anti-worker
approach and to provide evidence of the unfairness in the system and
how it is detrimental to workers.
The CFMEU will be making a submission to the Inquiry.
Workers are also encouraged to make their own submission. The CFMEU
can assist you in this.
The date by which submissions must be lodged with the Inquiry is
26 May 2006.
If you have experienced an injustice at work under the new Work
Choices regime and want your story told, please contact CFMEU Senior
Legal Officer, Rita Mallia, on 9749 0480.
