Inclement Weather Calendars

Under Clause 21.7 of the NBCIA employees are entitled to payment for ordinary time lost due to inclement weather, for up to 32 hours in every period of 4 weeks.

Employees are credited with 32 hours at the start of each 4 week period.

However, if an employee commences work during a 4 week period, then their entitlement is calculated in accordance with the calendar.

An Example:
An employee commences work on 16th January 2006. From the Inclement Weather 2006 calendar it can be seen that they would only be entitled to 16 hours pay for time lost due to inclement weather occurring in the 4 week period ending 29th January 2006.

Thereafter they would be credited with 32 hours at the beginning of each 4 week period
