The Executive Officers ... are collectively responsible for the running of the branch between meetings of the Committee Of Management"
 


The Executive Officers of the Branch are;

  • the Secretary,

  • the President, and

  • 2 Assistant Secretaries.

The Executive Officers together with the Industrial Co-ordinator meet at least once a fortnight and are collectively responsible for the running of the branch between meetings of the Committee Of Management.

Each Executive Officer is responsible for the support and supervision of a number of officials.

Secretary
Andrew Ferguson
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 
Overall responsibility for the industrial and political policies,
strategies and decisions of the branch;

 
Co-ordination of work of Executive Officers, Specialist Officers
and designated organisers;
Union education and training;
Represents Union on various boards and bodies;
Enterprise Bargaining Strategy and Project Bargaining Strategy;
Monthly Delegates’ Meetings;
Coordinates organisers in the following sectors:
  - Asbestos/Demolition,
  - Ceramic Tiling,
  - Group Apprenticeship Schemes,
  - Piling,
  - Tower Cranes.
     


 

President

Peter McClelland
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Acting Secretary in absence of Secretary;

 
Co-ordinates National Divisional Conference and
National Divisional Executive matters;
National Joint Divisional Senior Vice President
Co-ordinates state registered union matters;
Complaints re officers, delegates and union matters;

 
Coordination of Committee of Management, State Council Meetings
and Organisers Meetings;
Intra-Divisional matters, i.e. Energy, Forestry & Mining;
Labour Hire and offsite Sector strategy;

Union Rules and Elections;

Parliamentary Elections;

Retired Members;

Co-ordinates organisers in the following areas:
  - Off-site/factory organisers,
  - Public sector organiser.
     


 

Assistant Secretary
Brian Parker
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinates organisers' EBAs and Project Agreements in:
  - Sydney CBD,
  - Eastern suburbs of Sydney,
  - Northern suburbs of Sydney,
  - Final Cleaning,
  -

Rendering,

  -

Rigging,

  -

Scaffolding,

  - Bricklaying,
  - Steel fixing,
  - Formwork;

Sydney May Day Committee;

Oversees the day to day operations of the Sydney sub-office;

   


 

Industrial Coordinator
Brian Fitzpatrick
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


 
Coordinates Lidcombe based construction organisers covering building sites in Western Sydney, South Western Sydney, North Western Sydney and Southern Sydney areas;

Assist in Wage Claims;

Oversees Organisers, EBAs and Project Agreements in the following areas:

  - Bricklaying;
  - Concreting & concrete cutting;
  - Labour Hire, Security & Traffic Control ;
  - Painting sector;
  -

Roof Tiling;

  -

Waterproofing;

Oversees Lidcombe counter organiser;

Picnic Day Sponsorship.
