Divisional Branch Council "The Divisional Branch Council is the highest governing body of the union"

The Divisional Branch Council is the highest governing body of the union and meets at least every 2 years. The Divisional Branch Council consists of; the Divisional Branch President, Divisional Branch Secretary, the 2 Divisional Branch Assistant Secretaries, and   members of the Divisional Branch Management Committee together with; 27 Sydney zone councillors, 3 Newcastle zone councillors, 3 Wollongong zone councillors, and 3 from country NSW.

Of the 66 members of the Divisional Branch State Council, 4 are fulltime officials, with the additional 62 members rank and file members. These workers work in every trade and sector of the membership. The current Divisional Branch Council was elected for 4 years by all financial members of the branch in November 2004, and took office on 2nd January 2005.
