VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED!
Trade Unions and in particular the CFMEU are under
attack.
Big business and conservatives do not like strong
trade unions that oppose and resist their anti-worker
agenda.
The previous Howard Government spent $60 million on a
Royal Commission trying to bust the CFMEU. They also
allocated over $100 million to the Australian Building &
Construction Commission (ABCC) and its Taskforce to
attack CFMEU influence on Australian building sites.
Despite a Rudd Labor Government winning in 2007, this
struggle continues, because the ABCC is still in place,
and the new Federal Government plans to leave it in
place until 2010 – leaving our members with continued
threats of interrogation, possible fines and even
jailing if they do not comply with the ABCC’s Taskforce.
We need the support of CFMEU activists and
volunteers.
If you or your mates, or even family members, want
some work experience you can
contact our
counter organiser Astrid Blackley via email or phone
her on PH 9749 0423 and work as a volunteer.
The CFMEU maintains a Union Activist Register - a
contact list to keep union activists and CFMEU
supporters informed of union supported activities. It is
a “what’s on” type email diary which focuses on major
union and political events.
If you would like to be kept up-to-date with what is
going on in the CFMEU and broader trade union/political
movement please fill in the form below indicating the
categories you are most interested in.
Sign on & pledge your support so we can:
- Stand up for our right to a decent
standard of living
- Support the right of all workers to
organise and bargain collectively
- Fight for secure, decent jobs in the face
of corporate attacks on working people and our
communities
- Organise those not in unions to take
action to secure a better economic future for all of
us
- Mobilise those already organised in unions
to join the fight for economic and social justice
